Matthew was born near a small town in the rural Western United States. Growing up in the woods, he feels strong ties to nature, something that continues to drive and shape him as a creator.
Matthew is a lifelong musician, and continues to play with a range of different people internationally, usually smaller groups. He started with Jazz, but has since expanded into a wide range of genres.
He is a strong believer in the power of inter-disciplinary studies - in music and in life. Most of the photos on this website are his own.
Matthew is an avid Skier, Sailor, and Motorcyclist. He worked for a time as a Motorcycling journalist, and still makes videos on this topic from time to time.
